Memorable Vacation

Authors Note: Over the weekend I processed an idea on creating a story about a memorable vacation.  This Blog post will be a personal narrative about my trip to Orlando, Florida.  In this  piece of writing, I tried to focus on editing my writing for run on sentences.  In addition, I will work on developing a good conclusion.

Every five years my family makes a pilgrimage to our favorite vacationing spot, Walt Disney World in beautiful Orlando, Florida.  Last year we continued this tradition in May over the Memorial weekend.  This was an especially memorable time because we celebrated my parents twentieth anniversary.

What made planning the trip exciting was that I had a say in where we would stay and do.  It was unanimous among the family that we would go back to the Saratoga Springs resort and get the Park Hopper passes.  In addition to going to our old favorites, I suggested visiting a new park as well.  Discovery Cove had been a park that I had been interested in visiting for some time. The park turned out to be more breath taking than seen on t.v.

When at Disney, the first park we went to was Epcot.  We enjoy the performers, shopping, a great meal and of course, the fireworks!  I want the next day we ventured out to Animal Kingdom.  Our favorite ride was the Kali Rapids.  Getting soaked felt great in the hot weather.  The most memorable event that day was when my father and brother got stuck on the Mount Everest ride.  It took some time to get them down.  Of course, we went to the Magic Kingdom where we spent hours waiting in lines to ride some of the best roller coasters like Space Mountain and the Rock and Roll Roller Coaster.  A trip to the Magic Kingdom wouldn't be complete without staying at night to see the Electric Light parade and the fireworks.

To wrap up our trip, we had a nice lunch at an outdoor cafe to reminisce about this trip and previous ones.   The extended weekend sure went fast!  Disney World is surely the place were dreams come true.  Each trip creates new memories and brings back old ones.  I look forward to the next trip four years from now.

My Sisters Keeper Analysis

Authors Note: Trying to figure out what to base your first writing piece of the year is some what difficult. Time after time trying to come up with a good topic to base your story on is frustrating at some points but if you think deeply about what you have more information on you can come up with that one special topic. My mind had kept on going back to My Sister's Keeper because I could go more in depth with My Sister's Keeper then any thing I've done so far. My goals for this piece were not to summarize but to describe in this writing piece.

The Genre of "My Sisters Keeper" is more of drama then anything else. The book is mainly about two sisters, Ana and Kate. Kate had been diagnosed with Leukemia and ever sense Kate's been diagnosed, Ana has had surgeries, shots, and transfusions to help Kate. Each chapter gives me more of a glimpse of reality than fantasy proving that this happens to some families.I do not know any families that have gone through this devastating feeling.

Throughout this book I had found interesting is the language that they use. In some cases people don't mind the swearing in the book. In my case I would choose different descriptive words rather then using swearing. Sometimes I ask to myself why would an author put that in a book?

In one chapter Anna had killed Kate's fish and I had wondered, 'What is the big deal?' Most fish just die in a week or two.I thought that this chapter was not necessary to put in the book, but maybe in the end it has to do with something. I don't know what it would be used for in the end as some big suprise so I guess I'll have to wait and find out.

At the end of the book I was hoping that Kate ends surviving leukemia. I was wondering what would happen if she didn't survive in the end. How would her family react to this crises? And how would Ana take Kate's death? If one person in the family would be the most devastated I think it would be Ana. Ana has had surgeries, shots, and transfusions for Kate. She had done so much for her in her life. I know some of guesses aren't going to be true but I hope most of them will be.
